Easter Fun Themed Parties
Though originally a pagan ceremony, the Easter story is now at the heart of Christianity, and the date of Easter changes each year. Several other Christian festivals are dated according to the reference date of Easter. Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It’s the most important of all Christian festivals, and the one celebrated with the greatest joy. When you begin planning your easter celebration and shop for your easter party supplies, you will be sharing that joy.
Sentenced to death, on Good Friday, Jesus Christ was hanged upon a cross, between two convicted thieves, and upon the wooden cross, he died. His body was taken down from the cross, and buried in a cave. The tomb was guarded, and an enormous stone was put over the entrance, so that no one could steal his body.
On the Sunday following his crucifixion and death, some women visited the grave, and found that the stone had been moved, and that the tomb was empty. Jesus himself was seen that day, and for days afterwards by many people. His followers realized that God had raised Jesus from the dead.
On Easter, Churches are filled with flowers, and there are special hymns and songs, but not all Easter customs are Christian. Customs like the Easter Bunny are Pagan in origin. You can choose your celebration to be Pagan or Christian or a mix of both, when you decide on your themed easter party. In ancient times, the Saxons celebrated the return of spring with a festival honoring their goddess of offspring and of springtime, Easter. When the second-century Christian missionaries encountered the tribes of the north with their pagan celebrations, they converted them to Christianity, in a secretive and round about manner. It would have been suicide for the very early Christian converts to celebrate their holy days in ways that didn’t coincide with celebrations that already existed. To save lives, the missionaries spread their religious messages slowly throughout the populations by allowing them to continue to celebrate pagan feasts, but doing so in a Christian manner.
Coincidentally, the pagan festival of Easter occurred at the same time of year as the Christian observance of the Resurrection of Christ. Because of that, it made sense, to alter the festival to make it a Christian celebration, as converts were slowlMonday, March 12, 2007
Earth Day Celebration Fun Party Ideas
Earth Day is held each year in the United States on April 22nd. There is an international Earth Day designated and celebrated by the United Nations each year during the Vernal Equinox, which is around March 21st. Whichever Earth Day you celebrate it can be a little difficult deciding what to do. As you shop for your party supplies, you will find fun and educational ideas for your Earth Day party celebration. The simplest answer is to hold an outdoor party.
The day can be celebrated using entirely recyclable materials. Serve drinks in aluminum cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles. Pizza out of cardboard boxes is a great food, especially at a school party. Serve your guests on regular silverware and plates rather than Styrofoam or the plastic coated paper ones which don’t recycle well. Don’t forget to set up marked recycling containers for the guests to place their used items in.
Little kids can decorate brown paper grocery bags and turn them into masks as an activity at the party. Use markers, glue, and even food items like dried macaroni noodles in the decoration, anything that is recyclable or that will biodegrade naturally in the environment.
Another activity for the kids is to plant their own little seed so they can take it home to watch it grow. You’ll need to save up your smaller heavy paper egg cartons, not the Styrofoam ones. The small ones usually only hold four to six eggs and are perfect for incubating four to six seedlings.
You’ll also need a variety of seeds, preferably the bigger types like lima beans and pumpkins which are easier for kids to handle, and a bag of dirt. Make sure you don't forget to get these supplies after you have fun choosing your Earth Day party goods at the party store. Give each of the kids an egg carton and let them choose their own variety of seeds or a couple varieties and help them plant. At the end of the party they can take their planted seeds home with simple growing instructions and watch them grow into seedlings. Later on you can lead a brigade down to the local park or river and pick up trash that has piled up or plant flowers, plants and other trees native to the area.

Passover Celebration For All Ages
The Passover is meant to celebrate the freedom of the Jewish people from the Egyptians nearly 3,300 years ago. Explained in the book of Exodus, God directed Moses and Hebrews to offer and consume roasted lamb to symbolize the Passover sacrifice. They were then instructed to spread the blood of the lamb on the doorposts and lintel to serve as a sign to pass over the home thus protecting them from the last plague - death of the first born son.
The offering of lambs in ritual today has mainly been substituted with the roasting of eggs and shankbone. This celebration has since been recognized as a feast day named Passover Seder. Your Passover celebration will be made more meaningful when you keep the meaning of the holiday in mind as you shop for your Passover decorations and party supplies. Declaring the importance of the Passover procedure, the Passover Haggadah gives a narration in Hebrew of the story as well as prayers and many other resources useful in celebrating the holiday. The celebration lasts seven or eight days and begins at sundown on the 15th day of Nissan in the Hebrew calendar. Why the difference in days of celebration? It has to do with the conversion of calendar days. The Passover in Israel is celebrated for seven days based on scriptures but the Jewish calendar is a function of the lunar cycle and scholars added the extra day to make room for the differentiation in the moons location in the sky.
The importance of Passover today has a tiered level of significance. First, it is a historical and biblical event signifying the escape from Egyptian slavery of the book Exodus. Secondly, this celebration acts as an agricultural marker in that the celebration of spring brings new beginnings in a growing season. You will see this theme carried out in many of the Passover party decorations and ideas you will shop for. Lastly, the religious significance gives God the recognition of as being the redeemer of the Hebrew peoples. One could also argue that another important prospect of the Passover in Kabbalistic traditions notes that the play out of God's commandments in observation of the Passover fulfills the redemption process and highlights his mercy as justice.

Personalized Party Favors For Kids Birthdays
The party is about to start and your birthday is certain to be a blast but one thing is often overlooked: the birthday banner. The inclusion of this minute detail might seem to be just that but lets face it, we have always been a society that craves that personal touch. In fact, personalized party favors for kids birthdays are sure to be a hit. There are many ways in which a host can integrate banners into the theme of the party but one all time favorite still remains to be the banner in which the guests are given the opportunity to leave behind lasting remarks.
Turning the birthday banner into a piece of memorabilia is easily accomplished through hanging the décor in an easily accessible place with a few permanent markers laying close by. Some considerations to make while preparing your banner should include the following:
the type of material and the color the display of the banner
The birthday banner material should be affordable, yet sturdy enough to stand the wear and tear of the party and some time after in storage. As in the case of most memorabilia, it is often put away after the even only to be viewed on occasion thereafter.
The color one chooses will have a great impact. If a host should decide to use a material of a darker color, it is imperative to supply markers in contrast to that. Often times hardware or craft stores sell quick drying paint pens which would provided the proper contrast. If money is of consideration however, it is best to have a light background that guests can write on with cost effective Sharpies.
Hanging the birthday banner is important also. It should not be too high or low and proper care should be given to the backing of the material at this time. Knowing that inks may bleed through the chosen material, one might consider an impermeable back drop of some kind.
Integrating the theme into your piece by personalizing the birthday banner is a great way to make the guest of honors birthday a memorable one. To make the part memorable for the guests, don't forget your personalized party favors for kids birthdays. A generic phrase to get writers started helps too.
Where I’ll be in fifty years… Why today isn’t just another day… Our favorite memory together was…
Encouraging everyone to be creative and have fun will make a wonderful added gift for the guest of honor to remember this time in their life.

Go Diego Go-The Brainy Kids Party
Go Diego Go is a Nick Jr. Show that features Diego Marquez as the lead character. Diego was introduced to his preschool audience as an occasional character on his cousin’s show, Dora the Explorer. In Go Diego Go, Diego, like Dora, is an 8 year old who has a great love and appreciation of nature and the animals that live within it. It is this love of animals that normally starts the adventurous situation of each Go Diego Go episode.
Go Diego Go almost always has Diego helping to rescue an animal in trouble. To do this, Diego must use scientific method, including observational skills (and always some help from his viewing audience) to complete the rescue. Go Diego Go teaches the viewing audience about animals of all types. You can find decorations to match your theme when you shop for your Go Diego Go party supplies. The viewers learn things like sounds, habitat, family, physical characteristics and even diet preferences about the animals Diego rescues. Go Diego Go also teaches young viewers to recognize similarities and differences as well as some Spanish words and phrases.
All of these things that Go Diego Go teaches the children who watch the show, also work as excellent focuses for a Go Diego Go Theme Party. For example, since Go Diego Go encourages a love of science, biology and puzzles, a Go Diego Go party naturally should include animals or scavenger hunts. For one game, pass out pictures of animals to each guest. At least three will have the same animal (i.e. elephant, chimp, tiger, giraffe, etc.) Tell the children not so show anyone else what animal they have. Then, have the children all being to act out what animal they are. As they act out - the children should watch to see who is acting similarly . Then, the children that have the same animal should try to find each other. First time to figure out who all their team members are – wins. Or, if the guests are older, consider a scavenger hunt where teams of guests are given a pictures of an animal and they have to search around to find pictures of other characteristics of that animal. Each animal could have a different color of paper as an additional clue of what animal characteristics would go together.
Other games could include animal relays. For example try a centipede run where all guests are divided into two teams. The teams line up with everyone holding the person in front of them around the waist. Have the teams then run around a small obstacle course track without breaking apart. Be ready for lots of giggles as they teams try hard not to break apart. Don't forget to buy prizes for these relays as you purchase your Go Diego Go party supplies. Then of course they can bear crawl, or crab walk another leg to make it even harder or sillier depending on how much energy the party guests have.

The History of Mardi Gras Partying
Mardi Gras party decorations go hand in hand with the well known Mardi Gras masks. Mardi Gras has been celebrated in Paris since the Middle Ages, Mardi Gras began long before Europeans came to the New World, but came to America in 169. French explorer, Iberville, having sailed into the Gulf of Mexico, launched an expedition up the Mississippi River. On March 3 (the day Mardi Gras was being celebrated in France) of 1699, Iberville had set up a camp on the west bank of the river about 60 miles south of where New Orleans is today. In honor of this important day, Iberville named the site Point du Mardi Gras.
In the late 1700's, masked balls and festivals with plenty of Mardi Gras party decorations were common in New Orleans while it was under French rule, but when New Orleans came under Spanish rule, the custom was banned. In 1803 New Orleans came under the U.S. flag, and the prohibition against masked festivals continued until 1823 when the Creole populace convinced the governor to permit masked balls. In 1827 street masking was again legalized. During the early 1800's public celebrations of Mardi Gras centered around maskers on foot, in carriages and on horseback. The first documented parade occurred in 1837. Unfortunately, Mardi Gras gained a bad reputation because of violent behavior attributed to maskers during the 1840's and 50's. The situation became so bad that the press began calling for an end to the celebration.
In 1857, the Comus organization, comprised of six New Orleans residents, saved Mardi Gras. Former members of the Cowbellians, an organization which had put on New Year's Eve parades in Mobile since 1831, they added beauty to Mardi Gras, and demonstrated that it could be a safe and festive event. Comus was the first organization to use the term krewe to describe itself. Comus also started the customs of having a secret Carnival society, having a parade with a unifying theme with floats, and of having a ball after the parade. Comus was also the first organization to name itself after a mythological character. The celebration of Mardi Gras was interrupted by the Civil War, but in 1866 Comus returned and with it the Mardi Gras party decorations flourished too.
Now, Mardi Gras is celebrated not just in New Orleans, though the festivities there attract people from all over the world. The tradition has flourished!

Party Theme Parties for Every Occasion
Parties can be so much fun, especially if you to that extra mile and put a theme to it. It doesn't have to be that difficult. Simply pick a theme whether it be Superman, My Little Pony or a dance theme, the right theme party supplies will really help you out. If you want to throw a dance theme party but you are not sure what type, consider throwing a swing dance party. Swing dancing is gaining a resurgence of popularity from coast to coast.
Planning a Clown Theme Party for toddlers is a lot of fun. As the clown leader your theme party supplies can dress you up in the goofiest clown costume you can find with lots of bright colored clothes, big shoes and a fun wig of some sort. Options to do with the children include giving them each a clown nose, or painting their faces with either clown faces or other designs. Take a picture of each of them that you can print out as a souvenir of the fun activities of the day.
Just a few theme party supplies will get your laua to the right start. Serve drinks such as pineapples, coconuts, and other foods native to the Islands. If you have a pool, you may choose to decorate the surrounding area to resemble that one might find in Hawaii such as palm trees, leis, and tropical island snacks, fruits, and drinks.
Just remember theme parties are the way to go!Presidents Day is Party Day
Presidents Day is a fine day to have a party with plenty of Presidents Day party supplies on hand. This is also a favorite holiday for shoppers, Presidents Day is the last chance for retailers to unload less than popular winter merchandise before restocking for spring. The only aim is to clear the shelves so stores offer rock bottom prices in order to cut their losses. It is an effective strategy since lots of people in February have cabin fever and are ready for some semi-serious recreational shopping. So while you are out and about, why not take advantage of these great sales and buy the red, white and blue Presidents Day party supplies need to make your party a success.
It is not certain how Presidents Lincoln and Washington, whose birthdays were fused in order to form one legal holiday, would have felt about those bargains named in their honor. Washington endured cold, wintry battlefields probably wishing he had a new, warm coat or boots. Lincoln would have understood the shopping fever: historians say that his wife, Mary Todd, was a shopaholic. Any tribute is better than no tribute.
Back at the home hearth, especially in snowy regions, Presidents Day is a fun break from the monotony after Christmas. It's a great time to get some extra mileage out of red decorating items or paper party goods. Young children who are getting their first exposure to early American History lessons find reinforcement of those schoolroom lectures when the holiday is celebrated at home.
A cherry pie is a traditional reminder of the Washington chopping down the cherry tree story--even if the validity of said story is under current scrutiny. Gold wrapped chocolate candies could allude to both the story about tossing the coin across the Potomac River and the fact that Presidential profiles end up on currency much of the time.
Yankee pot roast or Boston baked beans with brown bread are fitting fare for such an historic menu. Pewter plates or tankards can hold some of the Presidents Day party supplies such as red, white and blue paper napkins or plastic flatware. A red gingham tablecloth and wooden bowls and implements complete the humble theme.

Groundhog Party Celebration
It is important to get your Groundhog party supplies to guarantee your
Groundhog party's success. February second each year, is the day that the Groundhog comes out of his hole, after a long winter sleep, to look for his shadow. If he sees it, he regards it as an omen of six more weeks of bad weather, and returns to his hole. If the day is cloudy, he can’t see his shadow, and he takes that as a sign of spring, and stays above ground.
The groundhog tradition stems from similar beliefs associated with Candlemas Day and the days of early Christians in Europe. For centuries the custom was to have the clergy bless candles and distribute them to the people. Even then, it marked a milestone in the winter, and the weather on that day was important. Groundhog party supplies don't just have to be plates, cups and napkins, they could be groundhog hats as well.
The ancient Candlemas legend, and similar beliefs, continues to be recognized annually on the second day of February, largely due to the efforts of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. From offering support of political events, to rooting for area sports teams, to becoming the star of a Hollywood movie, Punxsutawney Phil’s fame has grown. Today's celebration sees tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world as revelers await Phil's appearance as most fans wait to see their favorite rock stars. While waiting for Phil to appear, your Groundhog party supplies will come in handy to entertain your guests.
